I am a parent and a grandparent; and I am also a puppy momma :). I’ve learned several important health benefits over the years that include……… - Avoiding dog foods that contain fillers of corn and wheat which are unhealthy and cause various health issues. I buy one that also contains glucosamine for their aging joints now. - Some dogs are prone to fatty tumors more than others; that includes Bubba, who will be having a golf sized one removed soon. - To help minimize and eliminate fatty tumors, it’s good to incorporate essential fatty acids and oils into your pets diet. These also help with various allergies. - We learned early on with having dogs that it’s good NOT to give people food unless it’s raw veggies; which our dogs love, especially carrots. By avoiding this for health reasons you will also have pets who do not beg in the kitchen during cooking or at the dinner table. - When I give my dogs a steak bone or raw veggies I do it at times other than cooking or dinner time. Save the bone for after cleanup; then, they won’t associate it with meals and won’t beg. - Feeding your pet too many treats and too much food shortens their lifespan and causes them to be overweight and lazy. - Some dogs are sensitive to wheat and corn and have allergies that cause them to itch and break out in rashes that make them dig themselves raw. - giving your dog raw hides may be sure death and cause deathness. When we almost lost our pet a few years ago because he got choked on a raw hide bone I vowed to never again give them to our dogs. I will stand on that promise! - taking extra good care of your pets is just being a good parent! Treat them like you would any other family member and they may just live a long healthy, pain-free, and energetic lifestyle. Bubba and Aggie will be 12 next month.
