I am always somewhat puzzled at the demand/request made by admitted atheists, especially of the Objective bent, to those of us who are what they would call theists (and what I would call followers of Christ) to prove God. Its ironic that a person who claims to rely on reason and logic, would make such an unreasonable request! Can a man prove God? No. Can God prove Himself? Of course, but only to those who HUMBLY and SINCERELY seek Him. He is not a trick pony to do as He is bidden by prideful self-centered man. Lets turn the tables. I say to the atheist, prove logic exists, prove reason. Can you? No. You can USE and EXPERIENCE logic and reason but that is not empirical PROOF of its existence. You cannot hold logic in your hand and show it to me. Why? Because you are experiencing it on an individual level within your own consciousness. Logic is a perspective, a brain template, a way of seeing the world, not an empirical provable fact that can be shown to exist. Logic cannot be set upon a table, so to speak. Neither can God. In the same way you cannot prove logic, the one who loves and follows God, cannot prove His existence. God is experienced on an individual level within our own consciousness and spirit and cannot be passed on to others as an empirical fact. It is only as a man or woman experiences Gods presence for him or herself, that he can understand and hence, believe, that God is real. Logic is not the opposite of God. Logic can be used to see our great and orderly God at work in the universe. But God, like logic, is not a theory to be proven, He is worldview, a perspective and the Creator of the world who waits for each one of His beloved creations to turn sincerely and humbly to Him. He longs to show himself, to prove Himself to us. We have only to turn.
