I am grateful to the Mining Association of Canada for supporting legislative action and due diligence on conflict minerals. I hope the government agrees with industry that Bill C-486 can “play a key role” in ending the conflict mineral trade. I appreciate the concrete proposals for amendments and would love to discuss further at committee. To make that happen, I hope all MPs will vote in favour of my bill tonight.
