I am not English, correct Surname should be Frietas which is Portuguese ! When you have your DNA done you find out who your family really is and where they came from, sometimes it is quite profound. With the Y-DNA test the first 12 markers gave me my one and only match at genetic distance 0. This is your Paternal line from your father to his father to his father and so on, my match is John Andrew Freitas which was very confusing because it should have been Howe. Freitas families are from Madeira Azores off of Morocco North Africa in the Atlantic and are Portuguese people. All my life I thought my father was a Howe as was his father, well my uncle or who I thought was my grandfathers brother was actually my grandfather and a Freitas from my great grandmothers second marriage and her son took her previous husbands surname who had died in 1894 and she re-married Antone Freitas my true great grandfather. I am not a Howe or English but Portuguese and a Freitas which I think is great because I hate the name Howe an English Surname and always have but it was all I had until now and pretty quick will be William Freitas !
