I am quite the carbon copy of my mother. When I spoke to teenage girls about media & self esteem at the recent BAD Girl Workshop, I ended with this thought: Your face is the sum total of all the generations before you. Parents, grandparents, great grandparents and ancestors youve never heard of have contributed to every nuance. It is the history of your family reflected in a very specific combination in your very specific face. If nothing else, respect & celebrate that legacy & heritage made flesh through you. Dont say you hate your nose, your teeth, your lips...they connect you to the people that ultimately helped make sure you exist. :)
