I am still paying off my student loan debt from seminary. Graduated in 2006 and have only made a minor dent in the principal of the loan, most still goes to interest - accrued daily!!! Monthly payment - $311.00!! Most to interest. In order to pay on the principal I have to pay extra each month - which I do. I usually pay closer to $500/month just to make some headway. Who but student loan lenders accrue interest daily!! It is a rip off! I am thankful I have been consistently employed the past 8 years since graduation - however, I am approaching 60 years old! And, this student loan will be with me for the next 10 years. I left a great career with great pay in the non-profit sector to attend seminary in 2003 - and I dont regret it. I just wish the trend of who people believe is a desirable minister werent so heavily weighted against my demographic! Argghhh!
