I am thrilled with the news from the Hague, guardedly so. The ruling from the Hague is binding yes, however, (and I have to play devils advocate here to keep my perspective in order) the Hague has no enforcement power to its own ruling. I do not trust Japan. They are arrogant beyond belief, and should they go to the Southern Ocean next season, the Hague has no power to stop them. The Sea Shepherds are and have been the only enforcement power to date, and I would caution the powers that be to be on call to make another trip to the Southern Ocean to defend our cetacean brothers and sisters again next season because I can very easily see Japan thumbing its nose at this ruling and continuing on its murderous way to the Whale Sanctuary next year. Please dont bash my post, this is just some facts that I have learned and am very distressed about at this writing.
