I am writing this out of frustration with several different entities that are supposedly out there to inform and protect the public from scams and dishonest businesses. I have been trying to expose a scam that is being run by Stephen Wade and the Kornerstone Administrative Services, but it seems to me everyone is afraid to investigate my claims. For example the BBB told me that mine was the only claim concerning this scam and yet I went to their web site and there is a claim that is almost identical to mine and it was filed several months before mine. My question is why did they LIE to me about being the only claim when I filed my complaint when they obviously knew about the other claim. When I tried to get them to respond they just quit all contact with me, and when I went to the CBBB to report their lack of professionalism I got no response from them either. I don’t have any proof but it makes me think that maybe they are afraid of losing the funds that they get from these businesses if they push too hard for some answers concerning these claims of a scam. They may also consider the other claim settled because the person was willing to drop his complaint because Stephen Wade gave him his money back. I’m not willing to take the same offer because I feel that if something isn’t done these business practices will continue and more people will be taken advantage of. I also contacted Consumer Protection about this in early Oct. and have yet to get any kind of response to my e-mails. I have called a few times and have been told that my case# is 83684 and that the person handling it is Glen Minson. When I called I was told that Mr. Minson would be contacting me and I still have not been contacted in anyway. If this is how complaints are handled there it’s no wonder everyone feels it is a waste of effort to contact them. My problem is that I was brought up with morals and I feel it is my civic responsibility to try and report dishonest behavior, so I will never give up until all paths have run out. I also tried to contact KUTV about this and after several e-mails and a phone call to the General Manager I finely got a response from Cindy St. Clair producer for Get Gephardt. She told me that because of legal reasons they can’t be used as a bully pulpit just because of internet complaints that had been filed concerning this scam. So my question is if as you can see I have gone to all these entities and none are willing to do anything to stop this scam, then where is the consumer supposed to go so that they don’t get bullied by these large businesses. She also said she needed some specific situations, which I have provided her with if she would take the time to read everything I sent her. I think that KUTV and the others all have the responsibility to do everything possible to try and protect the consumer, because otherwise why are they even in existence. From where I stand this is how it appears to me. The BBB can never be non-bias as long as they get their funding from the businesses that they are receiving complaints on, does the term conflict of interest come to anyone’s mind. And the Consumer Protection needs to do something about how they respond to complaints possibly some kind of checks and balances to be sure all claims are responded to. And finally the news world needs to realize that every story should not be decide by how it will boost their ratings, instead it should be decide on if it can benefit the public to get it out to the most people which is what TV and newspapers can do. You also need to quite using the legal excuse without first investigating to see where the truth lies. If you are afraid to take on these big businesses how do you think the consumer feels. And if you are afraid you may lose advertising revenue because you are not willing to fully investigate a possible wrong doing by one of your clients you have no business calling yourselves a news service. In closing let me say this type of apathy has to stop otherwise all the greedy amoral people are going to run this once proud and honest country out of existence. Stand up and be heard, David Johnson
