I believe one of the great needs in the Church today is to correctly understand the Divine ins and outs of judging. It has become a popular thing in our culture - not only the Church but in a liberal leaning society to adopt the mantra, Who am I to judge another person? I have actually sat on a criminal jury with a person who used that non-judgmental line to try to avoid giving a judgment in a case of a man assaulting his pregnant girlfriend. While there is a biblical mandate for us not to be judgmental of people, it is actually un-righteous judgement when we make excuses that allows criminal conduct to go unchecked. We see this rampant in our American system. You only have to look to Ferguson, Missouri to see it at work. Or in the Palestinians Day of Rage. Or in Islamic terrorism in Western nations where excuses have been made for the outrage of terrorism, murder, criminal mayhem. Where the RIGHTEOUS in society should be judging criminality and terrorism by righteous standards, instead they look to excuses made to justify ungodliness - and there are plenty of churches that are involved in this very thing. People who think they are setting the bar high for non-judgmentalism when they embrace radical Islamist mosques into their neighborhoods, or explain away the rioting and looting thug behavior in Ferguson are failing to judge righteously. Instead of standing up for hard work of police or for the tiny nation state of Israel fighting off terrorism daily, or for the brave soldiers and military contractors who fought to stave off the Benghazi attack, we have a great swath of liberal Americans who side with evil and say, Who am I to judge? We ARE appointed to judge, and to do it righteously by Gods standards, not our own. If you dont believe that, then you need to stand down completely. Dont sit on the jury. Tell them upfront, Who am I to judge? If you dont have a stronger sense of the righteousness of God than that, then get out of the way. In Moses leading of the children of Israel there were leaders from all the tribes chosen out to do exactly that - judge the matters of the people. Churches embracing Muslims without any knowledge of the streams and m.o.s of Islam: Either commit yourself to educating yourself, or stand down on committing to what you do not know or understand. The saying fools rush in where angels fear to tread is applicable here. Openness to individual Muslims is completely different from openness to a radical teaching mosque to open and operate in our communities - hubs for generating terrorists for today and the future in America. Christians who take up the cause of Palestinians while condemning Israel: there is only one thing for you to do and that is to repent before God. It is clear that you are not interested in the truth because the facts are so abundantly in the public realm. If you cannot see it, if you do not have the spiritual wherewithal to get over your jealousies of Israel pertaining to God, then only repentance can deliver you from this deception. Judge not lest you be judged is counterbalanced by Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Get it right and get on with it!
