I didnt take my camera with me hiking yesterday afternoon. I took a couple of cell phone pictures, but that was all. SO... I will share some descriptive word pictures with you of the things I saw... A Mule Deer gracefully glided across the majestic mountain before me. Meanwhile, several silly squirrels, filled with mischievous glee, ran across my path and shook their tails at me. A wascally white tailed wabbit quickly wan away, before I even had the chance to encourage him to stay. Dragonflies danced all around me, while butterflies hovered nearby. The honeybees hid in the flowers, only slightly catching my eye. I saw not one, but two rattlesnakes. One quickly abandoned the trail. I kept hiking along, my mind humming a song, when the sound of a rattle jarred my attention towards a very large rattler, most worthy of mention. He quickly retreated into the trees, yet his size allowed me to watch him with ease. I stood back in awe, and watched the trees move, hoping the snake would another path choose. But alas I soon saw his head reappear, while his rattle was silent, it still remained near. SO, I decided that my best course of action, was to quietly retreat in another direction. B-)
