I dont surf. But I noticed something about surfing and waves. Newbie surfers will rush to the water and hit it real fast. But the incoming wave always slows them down. So they paddle away real fast and hard. But still, the waves keep them at bay. Veteran surfers approach the water differently. They glide into it, showing such respect to this force of nature. Then they paddle in measured, even strokes. This allows them a consistent flow outward into the waves they wish to ride. Arent our lives so similar. When we are young, we rush towards everything. We trash and fight our way to our goal. But we only encounter a wall of resistance. As we grow older we learn to be still. To glide into the proper flow. Use deliberate and measured acts to reach our goal. To use nature to our advantage and not rage against it. And this recalled me to one of this Sundays passages. It struck me and has forced me to contemplate on it. And it goes - Be Still. For I am Your God!
