I dont think its even possible to fully express what I took away from our First SkateMD clinic in a way that will do it justice. So, I will let you experience a little of it yourself. Meet our new friend Otto. What you need to know before watching this video is that Otto uses a wheel chair and when he arrived he was pretty anxious. He began to cry and said he didnt want to stay. I showed him a video I had saved (with him in mind) of another skateboarder that uses a wheel chair and still skates on his hands and knees. I got a timid smile from Otto. I told him he could try it outside in the parking lot if he wasnt sure about going inside. He decided that would be ok. And what unfolded next was the highlight of my entire day. He went from scared to unstoppable. We put him on the skateboard for the first time and he just took off! He stayed outside with his skate buddies for a bit and eventually made his way inside and was tearing up the park! He is hooked!
