I dreamt last night that I was being considered for a role in a play. I think the name of the play was Compassion. Id heard of it, but really didnt know anything about it. I had to go through an audition process -- which involved me describing the play to a group of producers and already-cast actors. I admitted Id never seen nor read the play and that my description would be nothing more than guesses. I then described it as a taut, intimate ensemble piece about genuine people who are trying to do the right thing, but instead are hurting each other deeply. I then made out with Meryl Streep (its unclear if that was part of the audition). When I was offered the role, the salary was so immense that the head producer wouldnt say it out loud. Instead, she wrote it on a piece of paper and showed it to me. There were lots of zeros. She then also wrote in a $600 per diem and asked if that would make the offer any more appealing.
