I finally - finally! - got the Neuro office to call me back. Conversation went as follows: Andi: Hi, Im calling from Dr Douglass office. Me: thank goodness. When are we getting on the schedule? Andi: Well, I talked to the Doctor and he said you need to talk to the oncologist. Me: What about? Andi: There is a note from the oncologist that the Dr needed to review the latest test results and he might change his mind. Me: About what? Andi: About the surgery. Me: Im sorry, I dont understand, did the doc not want to do the surgery after all? Andi: No, he wants to go forward. Me: OK, so why am I calling the oncologist? Andi: Because there was a note that said Douglas might change his mind. Me: I was in the oncologists office yesterday and they are on board and waiting for you to schedule so we can move forward. Andi: And thats why you need to call them. Me: Im sorry, did you want me to tell the oncologist that you want to schedule the surgery? Andi: No, Ill do that. Me: OK, so why am I calling the oncologist? What exactly am telling them? Andi: About the note. Douglas wants to move forward and he didnt change his mind. Me. OK. I guess I can do that. Andi: Good. Ill call too. Me: So why am I calling them if youre going to call them? Andi: Because of the note. Me: (Deep into the crazy well) OK, Ill call then. Lets talk later this afternoon and get on the calendar. (Id tell you Im exaggerating but David heard the call and I swear to you, this is what happened)
