I grew up on the southeast side of Chicago. A lot of my friends - TopicsExpress

I grew up on the southeast side of Chicago. A lot of my friends fathers worked for Ford, in the steel mills and for Standard Oil in Gary and Hammond, Indiana. A lot of the fathers were poorly educated and yet they made enough to support a family and buy their home. I mentioned this on another thread a couple of weeks ago and was called a liar because the man claimed his family never experienced decent pay and benefits and he didnt know anyone who ever did. Reich is right when he says conservatives erased this memory from the collective conscience. Not only have they erased that memory, they have done a good job of convincing people they arent worthy of earning that kind of money with those kinds of benefits.
