I had a wonderful evening last night listening to Arne Fogel and his jazz trio play 3 sets at Hells Kitchen in Mpls. A consumate vocalist with great players backing him up. An absolute JOY!! Its funny how life works out. 33 yrs. ago this Dec. 8th. I was grief stricken listening to him on WWTC the day after John Lennon was murdered in NYC. In the years since we met though mutual musical and artistic friends friends. I never would have dreamed that awful day in 1980 that I would be listening to him again in 2013 under so much happier circumstances. PLUS hes one of the ONLY other singers who would pass over Sinatras overplayed but always recognized Fly Me To The Moon in favour of the more obscure but far better song The One I Love Belongs To Somebody Else. Kudos Arnie for keeping the musical bar raised high!:)
