I had visitors all this month coming from France, UK, Germany and Indonesia and like with any business guest I had the pleasure to show them around and take them out on more than one occasion. This time however I had a feeling of being embarrassed a bit from the overall situation in Beirut, in Lebanon in general especially with the latest security issues. From the first walk on that sunny afternoon Beirut delivered and it delivered big time !!! Inside all the dust, the chaos, the ugly pictures of politicians and freedom fighters as well as belly dancers and coffee makers, Beiruts genuine essence delivered; there is beauty in every corner, in every face, everybody smiles they all said, and between the delicious food, the wonderful weather, the story behind every wall and yes, believe it or not their tour to Baalbek and Anjar, the Cedars, Byblos and Jeita, Lebanon delivered and bayyad wijji ... We might be surrounded by shiny glamorous cities with great city brands but by God we dont know what we have, because what we have is genuine, true and everlasting, it might dust up, rust up, stink sometimes or drive you crazy but I prefer to know that where I live in is true inside out a million times more than being in a shiny box filled with crap !
