I have been on the road for 6 months and 4 days today and have been through nearly everything an individual can go through in all areas of life as I walked from The City of St. Thomas, Ontario to Toronto to fly to St Johns Newfoundland then on April 16th began walking from the Terry Fox memorial to Northern Ontario. There is still so much ground to cover, so much that I will go through, and so many hopes within me! It was exactly two years ago today that I opened Homeless Happens Helping Hands first office in St Thomas! Nine months ago I began looking at other cities within Ontario that I will be opening more Homeless Happens Helping Hands locations, offices, and centers once I passed the two year mark (as well as other provinces once the Ontario centers have opened). Today, brief conversation and commitment to discuss the next location ensued, giving me huge optimism for what the next location will become. Once this journey I am currently on from East to West Canada, West to East Canada, and back to Ontario from the East Coast on bicycle I will be meeting with my good friend, Ian Mason right away to finalize plans and details for the newest Homeless Happens Helping Hands Center location. During the months leading up to completing this journey, Ian and I will have regular contact in order to elaborate on the plans for the newest location. The London location though, will be so much more than the St Thomas location. Yes it too will also be a resource hub, provide clothing, household items, hygiene products, essential items to the less fortunate but, it will also be so much more as will other future locations! Ian has worked with troubled youth successfully for a number of years and has played a huge role in successfully guiding people of all ages in the right direction, and so much more (including myself years ago when it felt as though nobody cared, was there for me, I had no sense of belonging in ANYTHING ANYWHERE, and was essentially lost without anything or anyone!). With Ians heart, knowledge, experience, and everything else that makes him who he is to so many people, my determination, and vision for a better way, better life, better treatment, and message of hope for everyone everywhere (including those that still dont realize they too are very close to being in the situation of need!), as well as those that will eventually become apart of all that this is now, quickly becoming, and everything it will be, it promises to offer everything that I have been working very hard for almost two and a half years to build!
