I have been very hesitant to share this post from a grieving friend, but if it can raise awareness and save lives, I feel I must. It is a difficult and heart wrenching message to read and one I am sure an emotional hell to live through. But at the end of the day, a life is lost, a very cherished life, because of a simple mistake. Human error. An afterthought. It goes to show that no matter how careful, how diligent we think we are, we are still capable of making mistakes that have fatal consequences for our parrots. Please understand that Kim is more devastated and guilt ridden than any of us can imagine, but she shared her story to help others. WE are not to judge her on guilt or innocence, simply to understand and learn from this horrible tragedy. Please do not leave your parrots unattended. period. We love you Kim Hannah.
