I have been watching and listening to many regrading the apartment controversy in Snellville. I lived in an apartment for 5 years, Anita and I lived in an apartment for the first year of our marriage. This is not about the type of people who live in apartments. I would welcome another couple of hundred kids that close to Grace Snellville. Growth is a good thing. The problem is it seems that when this was being proposed the two big factors that are in play were not given consideration. Hwy 124- specifically the intersection with Ronald Reagan Hwy. and our totally packed schools. I think there is no way this happens without redistricting. Fix these things first- and then consider managed growth. If these families come we will welcome them, it is not their fault. The problem is not growth- it is growth without infrastructure. Why not- after the 78-124 intersection is fixed, tear down the empty big box stores on Hwy 78 and create a green spaced- family oriented community with shopping, restaurants, homes and apartments there- Then create a greenway linking South, Brookwood, Parkview and Grayson with a golf cart- bike, walking path- linking the parks and let them all converge on Snellville. Create a place that our kids will want to come back to, instead of a place they want to get away from.
