I have lots of healthy yeast. Today was a productive day. I kegged up 5 1/2 kegs of Sociable 2.0 It is more bitter than intended - for reasons previously discussed - but it is a really nice beer as a North West Pale Ale. So, it didnt turn out to be a sociable beer, much too bitter, because the large amount of high AA % Mosaic at flameout contributed probably 20-30 more IBUs than intended. But Ive learned, so it will be thusly named, Bitter Lesson North West Pale Ale. Today I recirculated my just boiled wort at full speed through the plate wort chiller and within 5 minutes I had the full 35 gallons down to 175 F which will effectively prevent any solubilization of AA, hence no addition of bitterness. I was then able to fill the Fermenator also at near full speed, and my chilling time was cut down in total by an hour. This full liter boot of yeast is extra, and will be thrown away, so, if any home brewers want to coordinate a future brew day yeast pickup in their own cleaned and sanitized bottle, Ive got too much of it and it will set your fermentations on fire.
