I have noticed, as Im sure we all have, that there are some basic differences in the way many of us see how our society should be run. I want to know (and I am being serious, no bickering, just some honest discourse) how do we resolve these problems? What is the fair way to ensure all are able to get fair and equal health care (and I mean, from the lowest to highest paid Americans), and if someone is hit with a catastrophic illness that would leave them bankrupt, how should that be handled if they are uninsured? Also, what about illegal immigrants? We dont have a huge immigration problem here in NH, although I know in other parts of the country its big...how do we handle that? What do we do about children who are born here? I guess after the comments and such on Holly Strykers post, it made me think...no one ideology is the correct way...and I may be liberal, but I get very frustrated with those who make welfare a career - but what about those who are unemployed and trying to find work, and those who are hard workers but are underpaid and/or dont get insurance. What do we as a country do with that? Things are different now than they used to be, when our country was brand new. The problems are not the same. Sometimes I feel as though we are very much an every man for himself society, and to me, as a human being, that feels wrong. Just looking for some answers.
