I have some continuing concerns about my left shoulder, which suffered a bicep & rotator cuff tear 6 years ago. Surgery (and the never ending months of PT) were the worst, but they fixed the problem. Until now. My fear is that I somehow have reinjured it, and Im not sure how. (possibly through swimming, possibly through weight lifting and - worst possibility of all - possibly from my superwonderful new dog who likes to lunge at things when we run). I thought, originally, that the pain in the bicep area was from a vaccination I received two weeks ago - but now its beginning to feel horribly familiar to what I experienced last time. I cannot have surgery, I have no one to drive me around for six weeks, or walk a (pulling) dog while I heal, and I just am not willing to go through that experience again, especially the physical terrorism, er...therapy. So I am hoping (1) that I am wrong and (2) that there are effective non-surgical approaches if I am not wrong. I have an appointment with my orthopedist in two weeks - that gives this thing time to clear up.....but if it doesnt, I didnt want to be making an appointment two weeks from now that wouldve made me wait another couple of weeks. (My doctor is quite popular.)
