I have to say I love the new Mackie mixer and Alesis Fusion 8HD - TopicsExpress

I have to say I love the new Mackie mixer and Alesis Fusion 8HD keyboard, but I havent been able to get back into the full swig because its a higher end keyboard and sends midi (musical instrument digital interface) signal by midi connections only and not by USB. So, all this time I have been waiting to get money to get a midi interface to fully integrate my keyboard, FX rack unit and future set of drums into the studio via midi and I lost the auction for the card I wanted so I started looking around eBay for another one and the card I bought many years ago came and its still getting top dollar. So, I went in the backroom and unpacked and installed it in the studio PC and a bit of finagling with drivers and such, but I am proud to announce that I have created a very impressive music station. I have a really good quality soundcard running and processing the midi and the sound library and its sending a mixdown straight out to the mixer which is an audio interface that processes audio input and the final mix output. A total of 32 gigs of ram for processing the whole thing and a solid state drive running the new OS and the old OS is fully functioning the same. In the end I just needed connectors and cables (I ordered 25 midi cables in case this has to go on stage), which I ordered this morning. I cant wait to be fully integrated. It will be the first time since 2003 I had a fully integrated and functioning studio and this time it is with much higher quality equipment.
