I have to share this - those of you who know me, know Im a very verbal person when it comes to social issues, justice, and race relations,etc etc LOL. I want to thank my girl Terri McPhail Chiasson for sharing this. While I understand what this poster is saying.... I think we have to look and think deeper - and look at the bigger picture. This was my response: I think whats wrong, being a Navy brat, is NO SOLDIER SHOULD EVER BE STRUGGLING. In the matter of an illegal alien, I have always felt uncomfortable with that description as America was discovered by immigrants. My mothers family, the Fountains, are Native Americans, and I hate to hear us keeping anyone out of this country when those who sailed over occupied a land that was already inhabited. I am a humanitarian - I believe in good for all - and having grown up in VA Beach - step daughter of a retired Navy Captain, who now runs a Homeless Veterans non-profit - I am hurt. So lets do something about it - rather than put down one for another - lets uplift ALL. xoxo Thanks for the great, thought-provoking dialogue sis..... What are your thoughts - I mean all - not just me from an African American/Native American perspective.. but EVERYONE - and please be kind to one another. Thank you. Dialogue is ALWAYS important.
