I just confirmed a post that Clayton put up here a while back. It said that the average North Dakotan consumes 35 gallons of beer a year, which equated to one pint (16 ounces) per day. This number cant be right. If they took the total volume of beer and divided it into the entire population of North Dakota, and this is the number they got, that doesnt factor in a lot of variables. For example, Im sure not everyone in the state drinks beer. Lets say the number is half. That bumps the per capita number to two pints each. If they included the ENTIRE population, that would take into account underage North Dakotans. If we remove them, say another half of the population, now the number doubles again. Were up to four pints a day for whoevers left. Every day of the week? Who drinks beer every day of the week? Lets cut the week in half and give the figures guys a break and say three and a half days a week. That doubles the number again. Now weve got eight pints a day, three and a half days a week. A pint is sixteen ounces. Two pints is thirty-two. Four pints is sixty-four, and eight pints is one hundred twenty eight ounces, or one gallon. We used to drink sixteen ounce beers we called tall boys. That would be like drinking eight of them. At my prime, back in the day, I couldnt drink eight tall boys without falling flat on my face, circa 1972. Now its 2014. Damn. Ive got to start training to keep up with these folks! Bottoms up!!! :-)
