I just got into an argument with Jeff Husketh. And he said adding a turbo, no matter what is going to decrease MPG, vs the same engine, naturally aspirated. Even though its proven that using a Turbo is more efficient than not using one. His argument is that since you have a turbo, you suck in more air, and therefore more fuel is added to the ratio, and therefore you use more fuel and its not fuel efficient and therefore the MPG will go down. My argument is that the Turbo makes the engine more efficient over all, and on a conservative tune will make better MPG than N/A as long as you keep your foot out of the gas pedal. To get up to speed in a N/A will use more gas, than getting up to speed, using the same amount of throttle, with a turbo. Who is right?
