I knew this would happen when I finally got home - TopicsExpress

I knew this would happen when I finally got home tonight.... Ive had the weirdest day ever. We had a friend pass away this week and he was buried today. Its always strange to bury someone...... The body viewing is always so surreal. We walked out of the auditorium, and witnessed a crazy car accident. A truck (running from the police) ran into another car and flipped several times. This was in real time, in real life....surreal, and traumatic. Our departed friend was one of those people that I could go for months without seeing, but never really think much about it, because I knew we would run into him randomly/eventually. I think maybe thats why his death feels so weird to me. That happy, reliable circumstance will never happen again. I was so irritated by some of the preaching, but watched a very kind, awkward preacher say as little as possible about something that could have negated Kerrys life and convictions..... It made me appreciate a Christian again for once. It was done is great taste, and I appreciated his thoughtful sensibility. Kerry brought together some long lost friends tonight. He inspired laughter, hugs, and lovely conversation. He would be appalled by the cheese Im offering in this message, and even feel embarrassed for me that I still use FB in the way that I do, but..... Cheers to the Kerrolas, Gay Johns, and Sawyers of the world. Cheers to the style, wit, and brilliance that couldnt be bottled. Cheers to the clouds that hold these characters, and the mothers that mourn the images of lost youth. I am sad tonight. Good night.
