I know I think differently than some people (Some would say most people). I have often wondered just how much Mary did know. I know that my own mother knew more about me than I thought. Of course, in my case, it was that I thought I was pulling the wool over her eyes. Years later I discovered that all the times I thought I was fooling her - Ma always knew! Mothers do. Im sure Jesus never had to try to fool or deceive as I did. Scripture gives us some indication of the knowledge of Mary. She had heard the angel tell her He was the Messiah. She heard Simeon and Ann both proclaim this also. When Jesus was 12 and they had to return to seek Him, they found Him in the Temple speaking to the scribes and teachers of the Law. When He said Why were you seeking me? Didnt you know that I had to be about my Fathers business?. We are told that the others didnt understand, yet it said But Mary treasured these things in her heart. I take that to mean she understood a lot more about Him than the others. And why wouldnt she, He was a part of her for 9 months? Why did she go to Him at the marriage feast in Cana asking Him to provide wine? She knew He couldnt go out and buy it! She KNEW He could provide! Yes, Mary knew a lot more than we think!
