I like to pretend that my second story apartment is a ship on the sea. My patio is the main deck, and my front door, the loading dock. (This metaphor also works if you prefer a space ship.) When I look out from my deck I see not a parking lot, but a glittering dark ocean, dotted with many surfacing creatures. My crew, a high strung lot of furry bandits prone to false alarms, (probably drunk on rum.) My ship sails where I will it, and takes on passengers as I see fit. For I am the Captain, and I aim to misbehave.
