I neglected to post my third day of gratitude yesterday, so here is Day 3! 1. I am grateful for a handful of teachers that touched my life. My first grade teacher, Mrs. Elder, was the first to encourage my love of learning and bent all the rules to keep me moving forward. Mr. Orth, my sixth grade teacher, made every effort to teach me that intelligence and academic success should be sources of pride (not shame). Ms. Studenberg, my junior high drama teacher, put me on a real stage for the first time. It was there that I discovered the friends and creative outlet that helped me survive those difficult adolescent years. Mrs. Hardinge was my HS Essay & Lyric teacher. She shared with me her love of poetry, and challenged me to challenge myself. After years of dialing it in, she gave me a much needed wake up call. Finally, Mr. Molloy taught me English 101 at our local community college during my senior year of HS. He inspired me to reach farther than I thought possible and supported my efforts to fly. I hope they somehow know that they touched my life, and I will be forever indebted to them. 2. I am grateful for my good health, and for that of my family.
