Just received a letter addressed from Bicton College. I open it to find it addressed to my parents, the letter reads of a £10 fine of smoking in an unauthorised area. I have only a few questions. 1. Why was I not informed about this personally 2. Why have my parents been notified of this breach, when by law 18 and over students are notified directly. Or is this something special for students who are nearly 24 years old. 3. Are these so called fines actually legal 4. I remember signing a contract that said these things are not allowed at no point did you inform me that there were fines and that I had authorised you to debit my fathers account and also given permission to send my parents letters concerning myself. Hmmm I hope Citizens Advice Bureau can help me answer these questions. 2 can play this game bicton!!
