I never knew the true meaning of the word GENIUS, no i didnt, My collection of talented friends or people i know is fairly wide..I ve shared space, company or ideas with giants in the following fields, music, sports, tv, movies and from various parts of the worlds but it was not until, i met a legend then i was HANDS UP. I here by declare my former boss in New York city the MOST TALENTED HUMAN BEING I have ever been close to..Mr David Leinnoff shud be about 89 or 90 yrs old. He got into fashion at 16 yrs of age..went ahead to create one of the best fur empires in Nyc in the 70s 80s and 90s..Now here i am looking for a job in 2010 so I approach a frail looking old man..I keep bothering him daily and he finally gives me a job.. Personal assistant..yes by this time its trimmed down to family business.. him and wife..here I would get exposed to the life I wud ve never imagined..FURS..mink, chinchillas and sable coats and jackets. .btn $2000-$50 000..yes $50k n the perks were wearing fur to fashion shows yes I did enjoy but how to walk in a $5000 /12million ug shs wasn easy...lol. All that was amazing...character hot tempered, mukowu kabisa.nothing to like,but this then 86 yr old man wud be at work by 7am daily..sketches designs when necessary,cuts the pieces I see them get goose pimples..customers come get goose pimples.I personally saw Huge stars come for designs..i.e Alicia Keys and Beyonce the jacket in this video..youtube/watch… .I saw the passion, the creativity and undeniable talent I had neva seen or will probably neva see again..he has designed for Piere cardin, calvin klein etc n yes a chinese co. Had to pay a lot of $ for replicating his design..Partly I wrote this coz I get a head ache when a fashion collector from owino brings clothes uptown shops gets in the media n calls him/herself designer..Its HAAARD WORK people..But there are some real hard working designers in Ug. thou like Sylvia Owori and a few others.Much respect to them. Mainly much as fur is irrelevant n even too pricey for Africa..I wanted to expose n pay tribute to the MOST TALENTED I HAVE KNOWN.And he taught me that once you follow yo heart and passion, coing to work every day doesnt feel like coming to work,.and for those fashionistas pliz click the below link and check out his work.https://facebook/fur.furgery?fref=photo
