I rarely get into these race debates bc its never a winning argument for either side. The main reason I dont bait myself into such conversations more so bc im more upset by our own than others. The truth is as black people we must respect and do better for ourselves before anyone ele is going to care. And really why arent we doing that instead of waiting on others to change for us. I keep hearing references to martin luther king and other civil rights leaders but take a look back to those times where people gave their lives for our existence. They made sure they were educated....they dressed with pride and integrity...they ran and supported businesses within their community...they had community programs for children and kept their communities clean..they made sure their home was in order before they saught out the respect of others. We cant continue to put ourselves in life threatening situations and be upset when things go sour. I really dont have an opinion any more on the mike brown case bc ive heard so much conflicting evidence its hard to say one way or the other. One thing that seems to be the same in all reports was that their was some sort of tussle in the car between mike and the cop. Ill stop there....why is there even a tussle? Why do we continue to put ourselves in such situations? There should have never been a tussle. Which would have never let to gun shots. Never led ti mike running...never leading to his death. That does not mean the officer was right in killing him...nor does it mean he should be out roaming the streets after such action. But again why do we put ourselves in situations for things to even escalate to these things? Then you riot and destroy your own community? Theres no excuse in destroying businesses that help and provide for the community. You band together...support local businesses, clean up your streets, and mentor the future in your community so they dont make the same mistakes of past generations. Its sad to see what this generation has become. Were too busy fighting and posting fight videos, buying jordans....killing each other over jordans, expecting handouts, dressing like complete clowns. How can the next generation ever win when a mother blows all her money on hair clothes nails and shoes while her child...the future....looks an absolute mess. Clean up ourselves and our communities. Get the dress dealers out..educate the youth...support our businesses! That is what will produce change. And until we do....things will never change.
