I really love getting e-mails like this :) I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my musical heart! I am a 44 year old musician with a back problem that precludes me from normal work. I love music and thought that while Im say around feeling sorry for myself I should look at producing some music on my own. For a year now Ive been messing about, watching tutorials, and generally having fun learning all I can. I feel my knowledge as a rock bass player of 14 years should at least hold me in good stead for putting together a tune. Everything I started I never finished. I had 16 bar loop-itus and I simply could not find anyway to further my art no matter how many tutorials I watched or information I gained. I understand its a fairly common problem so I plugged on. Then I found your site a few days ago, and watched you actually make music. Thats why Im here because in just 4 hours of The Art of Mr Bill I feel confident beyond belief that I can now finish something and make something of all the 16 bar songs that never get started. I cant begin to even tell you how much your tutorials have helped me already, and I am at just the tip of the ice-berg, theres so much to explore still. Youve changed my focus, given me fresh drive and passion and woken my talent. Seriously Mr Bill, I can not thank you enough. Gushy, sappy crap aside, you are a mentor who I intend to keep learning from. You trust people with the monthly sign up and I agree that its a shitty thing to do to sign up take advantage and then leave without so much as a thank you. Screw them, they wont get what I did from your hard work. Keep up the great work, - A struggling musician It feels really awesome to be able to help people get a little closer to achieving their musical goals (even if I dont really feel like Ive achieved mine yet). Anyway, if you want to learn how to make music, mrbillstunes is where I house most of my tutorials! Apparently theyre really helpful, but the way I see it, is its just me writing music and explaining what Im doing, which seems like the most logical way to learn (or teach) I guess. Im pretty convinced anyone can write amazing music if they really want to :)
