I received several emails from viewers asking about boiling foods in the VacMaster vacuum sealer bags. This made me think Some plastics give off gasses when heated. So I looked into for you all. Here is what Lisa Bilatto of vacuumsealersunlimited had to say. I will be doing a video on freezing and boiling with the bags. Lisas Response: These bags are made for the freezer, microwave, and boiling. It is best to put them in simmering or very hot water, but they can withstand a boil for about 15 – 20 minutes. If the bag fails, it will do so at the seams. All of our bags are USDA and FDA approved for use with food and are BPA free.
