I remember the young woman who testified before a senate - TopicsExpress

I remember the young woman who testified before a senate committee. She presented the story that Iraqi soldiers were taking Kuwaiti babies out of the hospital and killing them. This hearing had a profound effect on the debate in the Senate over the resolution to support going to war. It turned out that the young woman was the daughter of the Kuwait ambassador to the United States. They had fabricated the whole story. It would not be found out until journalists were able to get to the hospital and verify the story. Ironically it was President Reagan that said: Trust, but verify.
