I remember when I decided to live for Christ (again), I would go - TopicsExpress

I remember when I decided to live for Christ (again), I would go to church and see replays of my former activities/behaviors flash across the big screens. Of course only I could see this but it felt as if the entire congregation could. Needless to say, that was not a good feeling. I would cringe at the thought of others being able to see who Lisa used to be. That experience allows me to be a bit more empathetic towards others whose issues may surface for public display. When I see another persons faults being flashed across the social media screen I think about those times and how they made me feel even though only I could see them. I understand that the accessibility that the Internet and social media provide allows people to readily spread negativity in light of humor, or even as a lesson to be learned. Ex. Look at this dummy! (Clicks Share) Or I would disown my sister if she ever did this! (Likes and Clicks share). Sharing some things seems so harmless but remember that these are real people, no matter how much the Internet tries to dehumanize them. 9 1/2 times out of 10 those persons need your prayers much more desperately than they need your share. Before your click share, imagine if the things youve done behind closed doors somehow resurfaced and I was clicking share. Thanks for reading. Be blessed. Ill just keep writing. The paper always listens. -LDB #lisaspieces
