I spoke a lot about a balanced approach to crime in the House of Commons. Prevention, community involvement and volunteers have always been as important as being tough on crime as the Conservative like to constantly promote. I believe in proper enforcement and sentencing, but understand the role that the local community can play in preventing crime before it happens, especially with youth. This is why I am supportive of this great decision by the City of Surrey to boost funding for the Surrey Crime Prevention Society which has been doing fantastic work in our community since 1982. Congratulations to Karen Reid Sidhu and the societys 300 volunteers. Keep up the great work.
