I surprised myself at my reaction on Robin Williams passing and ended up in tears at the news. As someone who also suffers from severe depression I can honestly say I know what those thoughts are like and how ever consuming they can be. There is still the biggest stigma with mental illness and especially depression in men. Mental illness shows no discrimination in who it affects. Suicide is not a sign of weakness, its not something anyone who makes the decision to attempt it does so lightly. To know how much pain Robin Williams must of been in is heart breaking. I have no doubt he had no idea how loved he was or the effect his passing would have on the world. Before you judge try to understand, maybe his passing may just help others.
