I tend to be influenced by way too many styles of music to limit myself to just particular ones. We all have different dimensions/sides of us that certain things cater to. When it comes to music, I love so many types that its very difficult for me to just confine myself to one or a few genres. I want to create and experiment with as many sounds and genres as possible. I see these as stages I will go through in my musical path, to be able to satisfy these different sides of my being. With that said I will begin my musical journey with Dance/POP/RnB music.............as my first track is well on its way for release this coming month (August......release day chosen to be is my Birthday) ^_^ and its the dimension of me where the glam/synth loving/dancer resides. POP was one of my first influences, next to RnB which are the two genres that pretty much developed me vocally and brought my voice out. Its a very dear sound I hold close to me,grew up with, and for many people who say POP music sucks let me remind you of a few words such as .........Michael Jackson......plus a shit ton of others but mentioning him for the sole purpose of pointing out that....no...clearly pop music does not suck. When it comes to any genre of music it is my belief that genres are all beautiful but it all comes down to the actual execution of the work both sound wise,LYRIC wise (very important) and performance wise that will determine if its the type that inspires me or the type that I feel is just mass produced mumbo jumbo that is mad disconnected from anything that feels remotely truly real. When I see many of these mainstream artists perform for example, Katy Perry,Miley,Rihanna, Justin Bieber etc. (which I bring them up not because in any way,shape,or form is my music like theirs....hell no.....but simply because these are the types of people that most people think of when the term POP is used) which is tragic to say the least.....but their pop just seems off, it seems disconnected from the source. They just really look like they are performing something they memorized. Not something that came from the direct source,being the soul. But when I hear pop like the old school pop....like Michael.........THAT is the kind of pop music that makes me feel something other than the quick mass production of now. I want to pay my honors to the genre of music that awakened the little singer in me...... and do it justice. Bring back some of that epic pop sound. The kind so many are nostalgic for. I want to remind people that not all POP is something negative/annoying/lacking of depth........that it can be something beyond all of that, more than what so many people say it is. Call it aware pop? awakened pop? progressive all about the balance pop? educational pop? call it whatever..........Just something that will make Michael Jackson dance somewhere in that place they like to call heaven.
