When someone gets your goat, it means they know what to say to you to upset you, so you lose control of your emotions. Women are especially good at getting a mans goat, since they are constantly testing to see if you are strong or weak. A weak man is easily upset by mere words, a strong man is not bothered by them in the least. So, a woman tests for strength by trying to get your goat. Most men keep their goats in plain view, and women get them very easily. As a result, these men throw tantrums, argue, pout, sulk and engage in other forms of un-manly behavior. But to what end? No woman I know ever felt more attracted to a man because he pouted, argued, or threw tantrums. That behavior kills attraction, it doesnt create it. What you may not know is you can actually run your own brain. If you are aware of your own processes and responses, when a woman attempts to get your goat, you can choose how you want to react, especially when you know what shes doing. Instead of responding with weak behavior like most men shes ever known do, you can respond with strong behavior, such as good humor, and letting her know her words do not disturb you in the least. Sure, shell keep trying to get your goat to see how strong you really are, but shell be secretly pleased to discover youre that rare man who keeps your goats well hidden. Few people think about the purpose of their communication. They simply react to situations as they occur, not anticipating how their reactions may affect future outcomes. When you make your business to, however, you can control and craft your communication to produce a desired outcome. Keeping your goats well hidden is a good start.
