I think we as a consumer should also ask. For a flat nothing stops us from asking how much is the carpet area . How much is the common area . When u buy or sell real estate u know exactly how much u pay the broker . How many of us has asked the lic agent how much money he makes and where he gets that money from ? How many people know mf commission is a trail commission annually ? Information is everywhere . People are just too lazy. If there is value add then paying for an ifa or even lic agent is not a crime. But still people should be aware of exactly how much they are paying. It is not the ifas reaponsibilty to tell us how much he makes off u, its ur money u ask and find out. If the regulator wanted it to be transparent then it would have been shown as brokerage cut every year instead of cut in nav . If the regulator is not bothered why fault the ifas. They are not hiding anything. They provide a service. If u feel u need it, then u have to pay..nothing is free .
