I took an educational trip to China in 2006 and visited several hospitals and clinics. I saw traditional acupuncture and cupping treatments, but was more amazed to see how their pharmacies were full of just raw Chinese herbs! This was an eye-opening and very fulfilling trip. Although acupuncture and Oriental medicine is considered an alternative form of health care here in the US, it has been used for thousands of years in China with amazing results. I am optimistic about the future of acupuncture, especially since many people are taking more control over their health and well being and are seeking more holistic forms of treatment.
