I understand that this post will undoubtedly revoke an emotional response from many who are unable to understand what it is they are really supporting when they say they cherish the men and women of our military. For those of you taking offense, I ask that you try and separate your emotion for 1 minute and read what it is that I have to say. Most of us who see through government propaganda are opposed to war, but many of us, regardless of this fact, still find ourselves aiding in its conception by giving support and respect to the very men and women who make war possible. This is an atrocious fallacy and I ask that all of you contributing to it please take a moment and think critically about the role your troop praising has on the wars you so adamantly denounce. Its pretty elementary people: When you praise soldiers, you aid in the decision-making process of men and women to consider the military a possible career. When young men and women have it pounded into their heads that soldiers are heroes, their minds are conditioned to make the decision to join the military a much more realistic one. When people join the military, they are made to follow orders, orders from which are given to them by none other than the corrupt politicians who profit from war and view our soldiers as nothing but tools to be used to fulfill such objectives. How can you stomach supporting men and women to join and serve in the military when you know that the very men they take orders from are motivated solely by billions of dollars in reconstruction and armament contracts? How can you sit there and support our young men and women to enlist to be used as pawns for corporate bloodshed? If you had any decency in you, you would not be attacking those of us arguing against joining the military or contributing to the variables that aid in recruiting, you would be reserving your indignation for the corporate executives responsible for harvesting the youth of our nation to fight and die for corporate profits. You would not be encouraging men and women to serve as the human tools required for them to carry out their wicked agendas. There is nothing more despicable than to tell yourself you hold the moral high ground when saying you support recruits for the military when you know that what they put their lives on the line for. So while it might be said that those of us who advocate our men and women staying alive and not being used as corporate pawns are troop haters, those of us who see through this fallacious absurdity know who the real troop haters are. I end my post with a wise quote from a very wise man: “The pioneers of a warless world are the young men (and women) who refuse military service.” – Albert Einstein Let us take comfort in the conviction carried by Einsteins words. You cant support the troops and oppose war, as they are one and the same, you cant have one without the other. End the cognitive dissonance now!
