I want to share a thought with current students.As you are aware,I will be focussing on academic transformation this year.Of course everthing takes time to implement and nothing can be done overnight. For the present students who are interested in going beyond academics,I have two plans; 1.To form interest groups in frontier areas with a student from each year of B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD scholars.While the focus of juniors is to understand the subject and collect literature and data,the seniors will be focussing on work in the identified areas through internship and projects. 2.We will organise certficate courses in specific industry oriented areas partly funded by Institution. Both the above will need extra efforts,work on saturdays with no credits .The idea is only to guide those who are looking beyond they study currently. I suggest you discuss among yourselves and those who are interested ,respond. Based on your reaction, I will plan/drop the ideas.I will be obsering your response and may not intervene till 24th June.All the best
