I want to take a moment and tell my Papa, Billy Mills, Just how proud our family is of him and all of his accomplishments. He overcame adversity, orphaned at a very young age and raised on the Lakota Reservation, Pine Ridge, went away to college at Kansas University and joined the US Marine Corps, served our Nation and made the US Olympic Team. 50 YEARS AGO TODAY, he went to Tokyo as an under-dog.. and wound up winning the GOLD. He is still, 50 years later, the only American to have won the Gold in this event! Since the Games he has dedicated his life to helping/ fundraising for young Athletes and the wellness/survival of his people. He travels around the world as a motivational speaker touching the souls of millions of people! I am so proud of EVERY HUGE accomplishment my amazing grandfather has made, pre and post Olympic Games. Our family is so incredinbly blessed to have him to look up to! WE LOVE YOU PAPA.. HAPPY GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY!! xoxo
