I was bored earlier today and decided to look up my last name, SIHAPANYA. And let me just say, WOW. Unlike Western last names, Laotian last names rarely repeat. Meaning that if you by chance meet someone with the same last name as you, in all likelihood, you are related somewhere on the family tree. Even having the same first name is a rarity. Having the same nickname is pretty common enough though. In any case, I was surprise to find out that their are so many Sihapanyas out there that I will probably never meet. I know with certainty that we have relatives in Australia, France, Germany, and England, but still could not have imagined there to be this many of us. Im willing to bet if we corral all the Sihapanyas together, there would be enough of us to populate all of Hawaii. lol
