I was delighted to see elegant Khadi attires at Huts to High streets Khadi Fashion Show, held as part of Vibrant Gujarat Khadi Utsav 2015 in Ahmedabad. Commendable efforts by Gujarat State Khadi Gramudyog Board and the Fashion Design Council of India towards transforming Khadi - once a symbol of nationalism into a fashion statement. Khadi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi says Khadi for Fashion, Khadi for Nation besides being stylish can also bridge the gap between rich & poor. Gujarat is committed to promote holistic value chain of Khadi,which can play instrumental role in realizing dream of Make In India & Skill India. આજે અમદાવાદ ખાતે સરદાર પટેલ રાષ્ટ્રીય સ્મારક ખાતે આયોજીત “From Huts to the High-Street” નામનાં ખાદી ફેશન શોમાં હાજરી આપી. ફેશન ડીઝાઇન કાઉન્સીલ ઓફ ઇન્ડીયા તથા ગુજરાત ખાદી અને ગ્રામ વિકાસ નિગમના સંયુક્ત ઉપક્રમે યોજાયેલ આ સુંદર કાર્યક્ર્મ થકી ગાંધીજીએ સ્વતંત્રતા સંગ્રામ સમયે જેને રાષ્ટ્ર ચેતનાનું એક માધ્યમ ગણેલ તેવી ખાદીના પ્રચાર-પ્રસારને બળ મળશે તેવો વિશ્વાસ વ્યક્ત કરૂં છું. વળી આ કાર્યક્રમ જેવા પ્રકલ્પો આપણા વડાપ્રધાનશ્રી નરેન્દ્રભાઇ મોદીજી દ્વારા કહેલ ‘Khadi for Fashion, Khadi for Nation’ સુત્ર પરીપુર્ણ થવાની દિશા તરફના સાચા પ્રયાસ હોય તેવો અનુભવ પણ થયો હતો.
