I was going to respond to a friends post regarding the A level results that came out yesterday but I thought it better to share with everyone. My dad was a builder and worked bloody hard all his life and did alright. I wanted to join the Marines (because I was a school failure) but got offered an apprenticeship by shear fluke. My dad recommended the Apprenticeship as it would stand me in good stead for life. I did the college thing and excelled and as a result I have done very well. Saying that all my friends that are builders have several properties and are now easing off or retired and my friends that went in the marines came out with pensions and are now retired with several holiday homes and are very happy...where the feck did I go wrong?
